Journal RITA (Riset Informatika dan Teknologi Aplikatif) is a scholarly journal that upholds a peer-review process as part of its commitment to academic quality and integrity. This publication ethics statement outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, the editor-in-chief, editorial board members, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

This policy is guided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, as well as the current COPE Core Practices recognized globally.

Journal RITA is committed to promoting honesty, objectivity, and scientific responsibility throughout the entire publication process—from manuscript submission to final publication—in order to ensure that each article published contributes meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge and society.


Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in a peer-reviewed journal such as Journal RITA serves as a fundamental pillar in the development of a credible, structured, and widely respected body of knowledge. Each published article reflects the quality of the authors’ work and the integrity of the institutions that support them, while also reinforcing the principles of scientific inquiry and academic rigor.

Therefore, all parties involved—including authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and the academic community—must adhere to established ethical standards. Upholding these principles is crucial for maintaining credibility and fostering public trust in scholarly research disseminated through Journal RITA.


Publisher and Editor

As the official publisher of Journal RITA, Pustaka Akademia is responsible for overseeing every stage of publication with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The publisher ensures that all commercial activities—such as advertising, reprints, or sponsorships—do not influence editorial decisions.

Publication Decisions — The editor is solely responsible for deciding which manuscripts are suitable for publication based on academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Fair Evaluation — Manuscripts are evaluated solely on scholarly merit, without regard to race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political views. Confidentiality — Editors and staff must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts. Conflicts of Interest — Editors must avoid any situation that may create a conflict of interest and act impartially throughout the editorial process.


Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions — Reviewers provide critical input that assists editors in publication decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Timeliness — Reviewers should respond promptly to invitations and notify the editor if they cannot complete a review within the expected timeframe.
  • Confidentiality — All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential and not shared with others without editor authorization.
  • Objectivity — Reviews should be objective and professional, avoiding personal criticism of the author.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources — Reviewers should identify any relevant literature that is not cited by the authors and report any potential plagiarism or overlap.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest — Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.

Authors

  • Reporting Standards — Authors must present accurate, honest, and original research without fabrication or manipulation of data.
  • Data Access and Retention — Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review and must retain such data after publication.
  • Originality and Plagiarism — Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cite others’ work. Any form of plagiarism is unacceptable.
  • Multiple or Redundant Publications — Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources — Proper acknowledgment of others’ work must be made in all submissions.
  • Authorship Criteria — Authorship should be limited to those who made significant contributions to the study; all co-authors must approve the final manuscript.
